Placehold.it is a simple image placeholder tool that can be used when creating live mockups or layouts. When I am working on a responsive layout, I tend to design “in the code” rather than by using design software. Designing this way makes it much easier to see how a layout will respond to different browser sizes. Placehold.it becomes a very useful tool during these periods, because you can quickly throw in an image without ever leaving the code.
Simply use the placehold.it url in your image tag along with the dimensions to add a placeholder image to your layout.
